Mark Christian coordinates coverage and edits photographs for the Sports and Features sections of The Tennessean. He has worked in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri. He has held a variety of different newsroom jobs such as reporter, copyeditor, designer, and online editor.

He worked on his masters in journalism at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he taught labs in photojournalism and publication design. He has won numerous awards from the various state associations and the National Press Photographers Association.
