Ricky Rogers joined The Tennessean at the end of 1978 just before graduating from Western Kentucky University. The Jeffersontown, Kentucky native, celebrates his 25th year with the newspaper this November 2003.

Rogers has won numerous awards in various contest including the Atlanta Seminar, Southern Short Course, NPPA Region 6 Monthly, Gannett's Well Done, the Best of Gannett and the AP Managing Editors Association.

Rogers has put together historic slide shows for Tennessean.com online, using negatives and photos from the paper's archives. Slide shows such as Nashville Civil Rights Movement, the death and reaction of Martin Luther King, 25 years of the Nashville Sounds minor league baseball team, the life of Johnny Cash, and others receiving more than a million hits.
